We're nostalgic for …. Fuzzy Felt
At over 60 years old Fuzzy Felt is a toy of yesteryear that is still as popular today! We remember playing with it in the 80s. But first appearing after the war, Fuzzy Felt has a far longer history. The joy of taking felt shapes and creating vibrant scenes on the flocked boards would keep young children amused for hours. We have sourced a little collection of vintage Fuzzy Felt titles dating back to the 60s as well as the new modern Fuzzy Felt titles of today. So vintage or new there is a memory to be made again with Fuzzy Felt!
The History
Created in 1950 by Lois Allen in the post war United Kingdom. Lois discovered young children at the felt factory she worked at playing with the off cut felt shapes - Fuzzy Felt was born! First appearing in Heals and John Lewis stores in the UK the first sets were simple shapes; ideal for developing children’s spatial awareness and creativity. Some of the early character story titles included Ballet, Hospital, On the Farm, Bible Stories and Fairy Tales.
...and something new
Fuzzy Felt is still available today - although in a more modern form. The new game board sets include the titles Under the Sea, My House and the classic On the Farm. Your little friends can now make their own Fuzzy Felt memories today! We also introduce Fuzzy Felt fridge magnets in classic cut out felt shapes and Fuzzy Felt greeting cards with removable felt shapes to play with.
