Originally used in textile mills in the production of fabric and clothing, Bobbins or Wooden Reels are a beautiful relic of an industrial past.
The Bobbins were used for spinning and weaving in the mills, which these days have been replaced by modern machinery and less expensive plastic bobbins.
Made from solid timber and a metal edge at each end, these Bobbins are a deep green colour on each end.
Also available are Industrial Bobbins with bright orange on each end.
They have a beautiful aged patina that only time and use can bestow, and each is slightly different to the other. Their industrial past is evident with a gently battered finish from years of use in the mills!
